Enterobacterial common antigen (ECA) is a conserved glycan that supports intrinsic antibiotic resistance in Enterobacterales. ECA exists in outer membrane diacylglycerol-phosphate- and lipopolysaccharide-linked forms, and a cyclic periplasmic form (ECACYC).
