OVERVIEW: Systemic mastocytosis (SM) results from clonal proliferation of mast cells (MC) in extra-cutaneous organs. DIAGNOSIS: The major criterion is the presence of multifocal MC clusters in the bone marrow and/or extracutaneous organs.
