To investigate the potential bidirectional causal relationship between specific blood metabolites and chronic periodontitis using Mendelian randomisation (MR). A two-sample bidirectional MR analysis was conducted. Data on 1400 blood metabolites were obtained from a genome-wide association study involving 8299 participants.
