The mechanisms of neutrophilic and mixed neutrophilic-eosinophilic asthma are poorly understood. We found that extracellular DNA and nucleosomes (Nucs) were elevated in the airways of patients with neutrophilic-eosinophilic asthma and correlated with bronchoalveolar lavage neutrophils.
