ABSTRACT: Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) is a nonmalignant clonal hematopoietic disorder. There are 2 components to the pathogenesis of PNH: (1) a mutant stem cell and (2) expansion of the mutant clone.
