This study aims to examine the genetic polymorphisms of the granulysin (GNLY) and pentraxin 3 (PTX3) genes and their association with acne in Egypt. Acne vulgaris is classified as a disorder of the pilosebaceous unit. Clinical, histological, and immunological findings indicate that inflammation is involved in every stage of acne development.
