BACKGROUND: Previously, we discovered a strain of Kunming mice, referred to as the KMush/ush strain, that exhibited notably abnormal electroretinogram (ERG) readings and elevated thresholds for auditory brainstem responses (ABRs), which resembled the characteristics of Usher Syndrome (USH).
