Paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) is a nonmalignant clonal hematopoietic disorder characterized by the lack of glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored proteins (GPI-APs) as a consequence of somatic mutations in the phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class A (PIGA) gene.
