BACKGROUND: Isoniazid (INH) resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Hr-TB) is the most common type of drug resistant TB, and is defined as M tuberculosis complex (MTBC) strains resistant to INH but susceptible to rifampicin (RIF).
