Dyshormonogenesis (DG) is the failure of thyroid hormone production due to a defect in thyroid hormonogenesis. Loss-of-function mutations in the thyroglobulin (TG) gene are a cause of DG, leading to gland stimulation by thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), resulting in goiter.
