Exemestane (EXE) is used to treat postmenopausal women diagnosed with estrogen receptor positive (ER+) breast cancer. A major mode of metabolism of EXE and its active metabolite, 17β-dihydroexemestane, is via glutathionylation by glutathione-S-transferase (GST) enzymes.
