Familial Dysautonomia (FD) is an autosomal recessive congenital neuropathy affecting the development and function of the peripheral nervous system. FD causing gene is IKBKAP, encoding IkappaB kinase complex-associated protein also named elongator complex like protein 1 (IKAP/ELP1).
