Introduction. Fluoroquinolone (FQ) resistant Salmonella are classified as high priority pathogens by WHO. FQ resistance among Salmonella Typhi has emerged rapidly and is predominantly mediated by mutations in the topoisomerase genes gyrA, and parC.
