Poor mechanical properties hinder the application of hydrogels in cartilage tissue engineering. In this study, macroporous interpenetrating network (IPN) hydrogels of gelatin and polyethylene glycol (PEG) were fabricated for use as a functional biomaterial to support chondrocyte culture.
