The lysosomal storage disorder ML III γ is caused by defects in the γ subunit of UDP-GlcNAc:lysosomal enzyme N-acetylglucosamine-1-phosphotransferase, the enzyme that tags lysosomal enzymes with the mannose 6-phosphate lysosomal targeting signal.
