Total RNA isolated from the brain, muscle, liver, gonad, and intestinal tissues of grass carp was pooled to construct cDNA libraries. Using 454 pyrosequencing, a total of 738,604 high-quality reads were generated from the normalized cDNAs of the pooled individuals.
