CONTEXT: Lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma (LPL), marginal zone lymphoma (MZL), and chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma (CLL) are well-defined clinicopathologic entities. However, distinguishing LPL from MZL and from atypical cases of CLL can sometimes be difficult because of overlapping features.
