OBJECTIVE: Mutations in dysferlin (DYSF), a Ca(2+)-sensitive ferlin family protein important for membrane repair, vesicle trafficking, and T-tubule function, cause Miyoshi myopathy, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 2B, and distal myopathy.
