Mutant A2 with increased ability to induce adaptive response was isolated in Bac. subtilis and its properties studied. Mutant A2 was shown to be more resistant to mutagenic action of MNNG, EMS, UV light. It was also discovered that A2 was more sensitive to the lethal action of MNNG and UV light than parent strain 103.
