Twenty five mutants defective in biosynthesis of antitumor antibiotic landomycin E and 22 mutants with higher level biosynthesis of this antibiotic were obtained after nitrosoguanidine mutagenic treatment of wild strain of Streptomyces globisporus 1912 spores.
