OBJECTIVE: GALNT3 gene encodes the glycosyltransferase polypeptide N-acetylgalactosaminyltransferase-3 (ppGalNacT3), which initiates the O-glycosylation of fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23) that is important in phosphorous regulation.
