Cold shock proteins (Csps) are multifunctional nucleic acid binding proteins used to regulate a wide range of gene expression responses in bacteria. We report here that Csps regulate the production of the pore-forming cytolysin listeriolysin (LLO) and hemolysis phenotypes in Listeria monocytogenes.
