Peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP) is an important host innate immunity arm capable of peptidoglycan and allied bacteria recognition. PGRP belongs to host pattern recognition receptors (PRRs) responsible for pathogen associated molecular patterns recognition, such as lipopolysaccharide, lipoteichoic acid, PGN, and mannose.
