We report here a novel variant of HLA-DRB1*10, DRB1*10:04, discovered in a Taiwanese volunteer bone marrow donor by a sequence-based typing (SBT) method. The DNA sequence of DRB1*10:04 differs from DRB1*10:01:01, in exon 2, at nucleotide positions 296 (G fi A) and 303 (T fi G).
