Eight highly productive UV-induced mutants of Streptomyces globisporus 1912 with high biosynthesis of landomycin E were isolated, their isolation frequency being 2 x 10(-3). Mutants 1-1, 1-4-1, 1-1y, 1-2y, 4-1, 1-2 produced 175-187.5 mg of landomycine E and 1-1b, 4-1-1 and 1-3--80-100 mg per 1 liter of soybean agar after 48 hours of cultivation The mutant 4-1-1 had the highest antibiotic activity and middle level...
