A genomic polymerase chain reaction (PCR) cloning strategy was applied to isolate ω-gliadin sequences from three A-genome diploid wheats (Triticum monococcum, T. boeoticum and T. urartu). Amplicon lengths varied from 744 and 1,044 bp, and those of the corresponding deduced mature proteins from 248 to 348 residues.
