The effect of an electric field has been measured on the absorption spectrum (Stark effect) of the heterodimer mutant (M)H202L of Rhodobacter sphaeroides reaction centers, where the primary electron donor consists of one bacteriochlorophyll alpha and one bacteriopheophytin alpha.
