Immune dysregulation, polyendocrinopathy, enteropathy, X-linked (IPEX) syndrome is an autoimmune disorder caused by mutations in the FOXP3 gene, which plays a key role in the generation of CD4(+)CD25(+)regulatory T (Treg) cells.
