To reveal specific Cl(-) transport activities in the symplastic pathway, uptake, long-distance transport and distribution of Cl(-) have been investigated in the citrus rootstocks Carrizo citrange (CC, Cl(-) includer) and Cleopatra mandarin (CM, Cl(-) excluder).
