PURPOSE: Multidrug resistance (MDR) remains a major obstacle to successful chemotherapeutic treatment of cancer. Several chemotherapeutic and radiopharmaceutical agents are substrates of the pumps encoded by the MDR genes, and therefore, their accumulation is prevented.
