Human lactoferrin was expressed from a cloned cDNA introduced into mammalian cells in tissue culture. Total RNA was extracted from human bone marrow, and lactoferrin cDNA was synthesized by primer-specific polymerase chain reaction after oligo(dT)-primed first-strand synthesis.
