Apolipoprotein M (APOM), a novel apolipoprotein presented mostly in high-density lipoprotein (HDL) in plasma, is involved in lipid and lipoprotein metabolism. Through comparative mapping, we have mapped this gene to SSC7 p1.1 in which many QTLs affecting fat deposition traits have been reported.
