The current study was designed to investigate the effects of the purH gene on chicken muscle inosine monophosphate (IMP) content. Muscle IMP content was measured in five chicken breeds. Single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were detected by PCR-SSCP and DNA sequencing.
