Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA (MPS IVA) is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by a deficiency of N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfate sulfatase (GALNS), leading to accumulation of keratan sulfate (KS) and chrondroitin-6-sulfate.
