Morquio A disease (Mucopolysaccharidosis IVA, MPS IVA) is an autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder caused by deficient activity of the enzyme N-acetylgalactosamine-6-sulfate sulfatase (GALNS) encoded by the GALNS gene.
