A hamster mesenchymal chondrosarcoma was found in the soft tissues of the cheek pouch and has been successfully transplanted. The tumor was composed principally of two cell types: poorly differentiated mesenchymal cells and focal areas of cells in islands showing cartilaginous differentiation.
