One previous report (Cinciripini et al., [2004] Nicotine & Tobacco Research, 6, 229-239) found that the D2 dopamine receptor (DRD2) TaqI A polymorphism was associated with smoking cessation: Carriers of the A1 allele were less likely to quit than were those who were not carriers.
