Pyrolysis mass spectrometry was investigated for rapid characterization of food-borne bacterial pathogens. Nine isolates of Vibrio parahaemolyticus and one isolate each of Vibrio fluvialis, Vibrio hollisae, and Vibrio vulnificus were analyzed.
