Sequence analyses of the non-coding, control region (CR) and coding region of the ND4-tRNA(Ser) genes in the mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) were conducted for populations of the ayu Plecoglossus altivelis altivelis and the Ryukyu-ayu P. a. ryukyuensis.
