We report on four patients with severe polyneuropathy associated with intestinal pseudoobstruction (MNGIE). Three patients presented characteristic supranuclear ophthalmoplegia, and hyperdense signals on T2 weighted cerebral MRI and dystrophic mitochondria in Schwann cells and in endothelial cells in nerve biopsy specimens.
