Abstract excerpt
The bacterial diversity of a soil sample collected in the vicinity of Lake Zub, Schirmacher Oasis, Antarctica, was determined both by establishing pure colonies of culturable bacteria and by cloning the total 16S rDNA of the soil and establishing the phylogeny of the clones.
