Ricin, one of type II ribosomal inactivating proteins, inhibits protein biosynthesis by its RNA N-glycosidase activity. By yeast two-hybrid screening, the human BAT3 (HLA-B-associated transcript 3) was isolated as a ricin A-chain interacting protein.
