The LGI4 gene is located in a region linked to benign familial infantile convulsions (BFIC) and idiopathic generalized epilepsy. Screening of the LGI4 coding region in BFIC and childhood absence epilepsy (CAE) revealed several frequent exonic polymorphisms.
