A 10-year-old girl was diagnosed with lymphoblastic lymphoma; staging evaluation revealed a large mediastinal mass and normal peripheral blood and bone marrow morphology. Tumor cell immunologic marker analysis and Southern blot gene rearrangement studies demonstrated a T-cell lineage.
