Human papillomavirus (HPV) DNA was found in cervicovaginal lavage fluids from 9 of 11 human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1)-seropositive female prostitutes with cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) in Kinshasa, Zaire.
