Three Cryptosporiopsis species have thus far been isolated from roots of woody plants. A fourth species, which was recently isolated from roots of Calluna vulgaris, Erica tetralix, Vaccinium vitis-idaea, and V. myrtillus in The Netherlands, is described here as new.
