The ygdP and apaH genes of Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium (S. Typhimurium) encode two unrelated dinucleoside polyphosphate (NpnN) hydrolases. For example, YgdP cleaves diadenosine tetraphosphate (Ap4A) producing AMP and ATP, while ApaH cleaves Ap4A producing 2ADP.
