Imatinib (STI571 or CGP57148B) is an innovative treatment for tumours with a constitutively activated form of c-ABL, c-KIT, or PDGFR. Such tumours include Philadelphia-chromosome-positive (Ph-positive) leukaemias, gastrointestinal stromal tumours, and PDGFR-positive leukaemias.
