A family of autosomal-dominant diseases including May-Hegglin anomaly, Fechtner syndrome, Sebastian syndrome, Alport syndrome, and Epstein syndrome are commonly characterized by giant platelets and thrombocytopenia. In addition, there may be leukocyte inclusions, deafness, cataracts, and nephritis, depending on the syndrome.
