We have shown previously that male germ cell-specific sulfoglycolipid, sulfogalactosylglycerolipid (SGG), is involved in sperm-zona pellucida binding, and that SGG and its desulfating enzyme, arylsulfatase A (AS-A), coexist in the same sperm head area.
